a couple things

There are a few things that have happened this semester. We went to Kauai for our birthdays in the middle of February. As usual, we had some fun adventures. This waterfall is called Wailua Falls and we walked behind it. The picture doesn't do it justice. There are three main falls and they are huge and it's like this furious hurricane when you walk behind the falls. You can barely keep your eyes open because of all the water that is falling in front of you.

The other big thing that happened is that we auditioned for the military bands. Kind of a long story, but we had this idea, we mentioned it to our professor, he got a band to come to our school and play for us, we talked to them, then we set up an audition and we made it! We both passed the grueling audition process (Scott is in the middle of his in the picture) and we have until April 6th to decide if we want to join the Army. I know it sounds kind of random. We both have never considered joining the army, but this would be a little different because our jobs would be as musicians. We would basically get paid to practice and perform. There are a million reasons to join and a million reasons not to. We would have to go through basic training and also attend the Army Music School for six months. During that time we wouldn't be able to live together or at least it wouldn't be guaranteed. It's been a tough decision. As of right now, we are leaning towards not joining, but who knows. What a random opportunity.
Last, but not least. These little girls are the cutest little things alive. They are the twins from Jackson, Abi and Bailey. They came to Hawaii with their parents for a job and we got to hang out with them on the beach for awhile. They brightened up our lives and helped us keep things in perspective. We love them so much!

  1. Sheesh FINALLY an update!!!
Whoa...the army huh? I had to laugh. Random but cool that you got in. Both of you. I know benefits are cool but...not sure about the whole boot camp and separation thing. Although you guys would get to travel so much together...because wouldn't there be only 1 band @ a particular base? I don't know. But if it comes down to deciding between continents...remember: there's nothing like a warm day at the beach!!! :) Anyhow, we must do dinner before you guys leave on your adventures :)

  2. Cute little girls!!! What a random opportunity! If you don't end up taking it, it will at least make a great story for the grandkids one day... :) You know, I've never hiked down to Wailua Falls! There's a lot of Kauai I haven't done... sad. Maybe when my boys are older!
