Last night as we were watching American Idol we heard some noise and Scott jumped up real quick and watched some punks take off around the corner with my bike. Luckily we caught one of the guys with our other bike and confronted him about his friends. He denied trying to steal both our bikes even though we caught him red-handed in the act. We got him to call up his stupid friends who took my bike and after about 15 minutes of "negotiating" we got them to leave the bike on the road from TVA to the school and Scott and the kid we caught went and picked it up. I don't know if anyone else has had anything stolen before; I don't think I have, but this was kind of different because we actually confronted the thieves face to face. Usually when something gets stolen you don't necessarisly have a face to put with the thief. But, we saw them and talked to them. We interacted with the people who took our bikes. It was the wierdest feeling and I kind of don't really, not at all feel safe in Laie anymore. The good thing is that we got both our bikes back (one was our friend's Lee Yen's...Scott said you would laugh when you found out.)
First of all: DID you get a picture of those crooks???
ReplyDeleteCan't believe he had the nerve to deny it. I'm mostly laughing trying to picture Scott chasing te guy on my cruiser bike :) But I'm glad you got them and that you guys are safe. That'll teach them to try and steal from the DIMONDS.
PS: Scott really is almost cursed. Lol
That is a little crazy! That would be weird to deal with the thief right then and there and not wonder for days who might have done it... I'm glad you got your bikes back!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on with the world these days. Stealing bikes. Crazy. Sorry that happened to you, but Im glad your confrontation was a safe one and that you got the bikes back. ;)
ReplyDeleteWay to catch a thief!
ReplyDeleteHope you two are doing well. Love your blog. Take care!!!
