Just so you all know, Scott and I were in the Steel Band at BYUH in the Fall of 2004; we were not friends. Then I left to serve a mission in Indiana from 2005-2006. In the summer of 2007 I was offered a job in Jackson Hole, WY and so was Scott; both by our professors of music, Dr. Duerden talked with Scott and Merrilee Webb convinced me to go. We both had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but began the rehearsal process for a theater company called Playmill. Scott as the drummer and me as the pianist. We both had significant others in the beginning; however within the first month we were both single again. We became fast friends. After a few major ups and downs (mostly because of my indecision) we fell in love.
P.S. Here's a picture of my ring on the wrong finger before we got it sized! I love it!!!
The ups and downs weren't over because the end of the summer came and we both were headed back to different BYU's. He went back to Hawaii and I went back to Provo. We made the most of the situation and kept in contact through phone, email and thank goodness for texting! Our relationships continued to progress even though we were thousands of miles a part and this led to that and that led to me moving back to Laie so that we could be together. For the past three months we have been getting to know each other better and praying about whether or not it was the right thing to get married.
Now we know and it is a wonderful feeling to have such peaceful confirmations and to consistently feel right about something! In response to this post I would love to hear your stories about meeting and falling in love with your spouses!
Yesterday I bought my dress online! I have yet to figure out how to strip pictures from the internet, but it is dress #3805m on beautifullymodest.com if you want to see a picture of it. It's very very simple, but I love it and hope it fits when it arrives. We bought Scott a brand new suit yesterday and he looks so good in it!
I wish you all could come out to Hawaii for the sealing, but I hope to see most of you at the reception in Utah. Any questions about Scottie? You can ask and I will do my best to answer!
i knew it. Congrats. That is so exciting. I was up feeding Emory and I was like why does she want my address at 3 in the morning. But it does make sense that you were in Hawaii. I am sooo happy for you.
