Conference and Wedding Thoughts

It's pouring rain. The best Hawaii kind of morning when the sun is just rising and the rain is falling through the light. I'm listening to Elder Packer speak while I'm typing this and I know I probably shouldn't be updating my blog while listening to conference, but Scott fell asleep and his roommate is on the other couch asleep and I'm left alone to listen to Elder Packer. We are watching the live session that began at 6am!! I don't blame them for falling asleep! By the way, I absolutely love conference. It's never been as spiritually nourishing as it was on my mission; why is that? I know. But I still love the uplifting feelings I feel and the courage and faith to move forward with my life. I'm such an impatient person and have to constantly remind myself to take one thing at a time.

The wedding plans are coming along. In a couple days everyone should be getting an invitation to our reception and I hope you can all come! It will be in Layton, UT! If you are worried that you won't get one, send me your address, but I'm almost positive that we sent one to everyone we have ever known!! Ha ha ha!! Three and a half weeks to go and I wonder to myself all the time if there should be something else that I should be doing to prepare; to prepare spiritually more so than anything! But then I think to myself that I've been preparing for this in one way or the other my whole life. I am constantly and eternally grateful that I was able to serve a mission in Indiana! I feel like that experience helped me more than almost anything else to prepare to have an eternal companion. Other details; I have my dress and my shoes and my ring and my boquet (sp?)! Scott's mom, Lana, has been absolutely wonderful to help prepare for our reception in Utah. My Mom, too, has been an angel to help me keep all the details straight and not miss a single thing! I love both of them very much!! We have Scott's ring, his new suit, a beautiful lei for outside the temple. We are getting our marriage license this week, I've talked to President Workman about performing the sealing. He used to be the Hawaii Mission President and I knew him quite well growing up on Kauai. It's a blessing to have him as the Laie, HI Temple President.

Oh yeah! Both Aloha Airlines and ATA went out of business this week. My parents had all their tickets bought on Aloha and Scott's family had their tickets on ATA and Scott and I had our mainland tickets on ATA. We don't know if we will get our $600 back! That's a lot of money for two poor college kids who are planning to get married in three weeks! We are praying hard and trust that we will be refunded and that we will be able to find cheap tickets to Utah on May 3rd. Oh the fun, fun, fun challenges that life presents. I guess if this is the biggest problem we run into, then we are pretty blessed! In fact, I know we have been so blessed to have what we need when we need it.

  7. I was wondering where couples go on their honeymoon when they already live in a beautiful tropical area. You look so beautiful. What is your new address.
