Simple Summer Days

Our summer days are pretty simple lately.  I am so pregnant that I feel like I can barely walk around the block.  Last night Scott was in the shop working on his motorcycle and Emily was in her post nap blues so we cleaned up the stroller and went for a leisurely stroll with Sue.  I had to keep telling Sue to stop pulling because she was walking too fast!  (In reality I was walking really very very slowly.)  We made it around two blocks, but normally I can book it to the park in 10 minutes.  I think we were gone for over half an hour.

I am so proud of my pretty flowers.  I transplanted some tiger lilies (in the background) from a yard sale last year.  The lady I visit teach gave me some other lilies that were dying and I planted them too and they finally bloomed!  Then I sprinkled a wildflower mix around them all just in case and everything is blooming and I love it!  Each morning I wake up and go outside to see what new flower has bloomed.

Scott has been working on his motorcycle since about the beginning of April.  It was proved to be a love/hate situation.  Every time he thinks he is close to having it done something else happens that he has to fix.  He has literally built the entire bike out of almost nothing.  A lot of the pieces he has built are from snare stands and drum pieces lying around.  He is so close to having it up and running.  He found a sweet helmet at DI the other day and he figured out how to put the brake light on yesterday and attach the battery.  The next big thing that is almost finished is stuffing all the electrical into a box and attaching it under the seat.

Emily finally got over her blues and decided to take her shirt and shoes off and play in the dirt.  Then all of a sudden she took off down the block and I had to chase her.  I think she is loving the sunshine and being barefoot and exploring outside.  She is really good about not going in the road and just playing on the sidewalk, but I still watch her like a hawk.  She is so curious and smart!  We were just counting up all the words she knows and it is well over 100 things that she can say and identify.  She learns new things every day.

Now for my pride and joy.  I actually succeeded in growing some strawberries!  I can hardly believe it!!!
