Day 125 New Friends
Today I am grateful for new friends. In particular, Tony. Talk about the art of making a best friend. She has it down and was sincere and made me feel like a million bucks in a period of a few hours. Wow, what a wonderful, wonderful woman. Melanie's Mom usually picks me up to go skiing on Tuesday's and today was no different except that Tony was with her and she greeted me with a great big hug and something along the lines of "I am soooooooooooo happy to have finally met you!" Me? Why? I jumped in the truck and we drove to Melanie's, about 15 minutes away and by the end of the drive we had found numerous connections and I knew all about how her and Janell (Melanie's Mom) knew each other and how they had met. We found out we had both lived in Hawaii for a period of time and then immediately felt like family. Family in 15 minutes. Wow, that's a first. We then spent the rest of the entire day driving up to Powder Mountain and skiing the rest of the day. Eating lunch together and sharing hilarious moments at the top of the mountain involving a missing phone and bazookas. She found out I played the piano and without even having heard me, obviously, she spent the entire lift ride complimenting me and praising me up and down for having accomplished something wonderful in my life. She is amazing and I felt like GOLD. What an experience. I want to be like Tony when I grow up.
