Day 50- My Piano Teachers
Today as I was at one of my cleaning jobs I listened to a book called "Talent is Overrated" by Geoff Colvin. I have strong feelings about the content of this book which I won't address in this post. Mostly it just made me feel grateful for each and every one of my piano teachers who helped me stay dedicated to practicing over the years. First and foremost, my Mom, who was the one who started me as a seven or eight year old piano student. I think her dedication to helping me practice and giving me my weekly lesson is what taught me that diligence and hard work can get me anywhere I want to go. I am so grateful for those principles that I am just now beginning to realize she taught me. Thank you so much Mom for helping me stay diligent all those years. Hopefully I can help my own students value the art of practicing and working hard for larger goals and dreams. That is my desire.
