Last weekend we went on a way fun adventure to Wind Rivers. It's this eight mile hike up in Wyoming about an hour away from Jackson. We went with Scott's best friend and his wife. A total of nine people went and our dog Sue.

This is Ty and Melanie. Scott has known them since elementary.

Wind Rivers is absolutely beautiful. Of course all the pictures I took did not do the place justice. Basically it's this remote campsite next to a beautiful no name lake, river and waterfall. We hiked around to another lake called Brookey Lake and up above it to a bunch of gorgeous waterfalls.

I guess above this set of cascades there is another lake and an even taller waterfall. We should have kept going, but we were short on time. Scott fished the entire time we were there.

I caught one little one.

This is the morning of Labor Day, the day we hiked out. We slept better the second night we were there. It wasn't frosty yet and there were no mosquitoes. Scott says that in the past the mosquitoes are swarming and makes it not fun. We had a blast!

This is Scott and Ty out in the middle of Miller Lake. Melanie and I took their shoes and shirts and booked it out of there as fast as we could. We dropped their shirts, socks and shoes one at a time along the trail. We got them good! They didn't even catch up to us until we reached the cars.
Scott, why is Adrienne the one with the big backpack? I'm proud of you Ad for getting him back!!! :D
ReplyDeleteHa! We had just stopped for a rest and he took his pack off! He carried a much heavier pack than I did.
ReplyDeleteWhat a breathtaking place to explore! you guys take on such cool adventures!
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun with you guys! We will have to plan more hiking trips together so we can get Scott and Ty to hike with us. I'm still planning on Snowboarding with you. Or we can skip to the real sport... skiing! Thanks for coming! We love you guys!
