Our two months of summer leisure has led to Scott and I finding a job, being interviewed (twice) and being offered a job!! We will be working as teachers for a private studio called The Terrace School of Music and Dance, soon to be Bravo! Arts Academy. We accepted their offer officially yesterday and will be signing our one year contracts on Monday. I will be teaching piano full-time to kids between the ages of 3-16 and Scott will be learning the guitar in the next month and teaching guitar and drums. They offered to pay for one full year of guitar lessons so Scott can have a full-time schedule teaching. The demand for drum lessons isn't as high as guitar or piano so he will be "picking up" another instrument in the meantime. We are very excited about this opportunity and now know that we will be in Utah for at least the next year and probably more. We are hoping this opportunity turns into a somewhat long-term situation where Scott can build up their percussion program and we can hopefully start a Steel Band. Yeah for finding a job together, eight miles away from Scott's house in Layton, AND doing what we both went to school for. We feel very blessed!

ReplyDeleteI knew that once you left this rock, you wouldn't be coming back soon :( But hey, that's great news!!! How cool things work out right? Tell Scott to get some singing lessons too if he can. Might as well if they're paid for. Haha.
