We sort of finally finished our college education. I say sort of because we still have one semester left, but they only have graduation in December and June. I really wanted to walk in my college graduation because I never had a real High School graduation so I signed us both up and we received our fake diplomas and walked across the stage. What a glorious moment! But not officially official until the actual diploma comes in the mail sometime probably in the summer of 2009. Scott was so patient and humored my silly need to participate in this momentous occasion. Just to summarize it: I began at BYUH in 2002, served a mission from 2005-2006, went to BYU Provo in 2007, married Scott April 2008, and now I'm finishing up at BYUH by May 2009. It's still not over yet, but the end is in sight. Seven years, wow!
Everyone seems to compare us to the Duerden's. Dr. D is Scott's teacher and Jennifer is my piano teacher. We have both known them since we began. My first semester in 2002 I helped Dr. D plan the Kauai tour. Scott began at BYUH in 2004, the semester right before I left on my mission. Dr. Duerden is a drummer (like Scott) and Jennifer is a pianist (like me). They have been the most influential professors we have had at school and very good friends too! President Eyring was able to be at our Graduation and spoke to us about the future and our eternal education. It was excellent insight and advice. I love President Eyring anyway. His talks are always so genuine, sincere and full of love. It was an honor and a privelege to have him speak at our Graduation. We are pretty tired after the last couple of weeks with never-ending performances (our last one was at the end of Graduation...steel band) and finals. It's finally over...for the time being and we are headed to Utah for Christmas!!! If it ever stops raining....
Congrats! It is so nice to see the end of years of school. Unless you decide to get your PHD or something like that but I am really excited for you. I just can't believe how much rain you are getting. That is insane.
I hope you all are keeping warm and dry with all that crazy rain...but CONGRATS on walking and being almost officially done with school. So proud for you!
Congratulations to you both! Being done with school is a great feeling, and I'm excited to see where life takes you both next. You're each so talented! I MISS YOU!
