Belly Dancing

Last night the most unexpected form of entertainment found us while we were walking at the duck park by Layton High...belly dancing. Scott's friends came into town, Chuck and Melissa. We met at the Stake Barbeque for some hamburgers, corn on the cob, and creamie popsicles. Then we decided to go see the ducks at the nearby park. As we came to the end of the trail we saw lights and heard some voices and went over to the amphitheater to see what was going on. It seemed like some kind of raffle give-away. I asked a girl who was dressed up in costume what was going on and she said a belly-dancing show. We asked if it was free and sure enough they let us in a even gave us a free coke. They were at intermission! We sat down and watched the most bizarre show I have ever seen in my life! Women, of all ages, shapes and sizes, in next to nothing, began dancing to music up on stage. My jaw dropped to the floor and a huge smile spread across my face. Melissa pointed out that we had to give them props for getting up there on stage in those costumes. I thought they might benefit from a few lessons from our Tahitian friends or even throwing up a few Polynesian dancers in the mix. We spent the rest of the evening clapping and cheering for these women...and laughing...a teensy bit!! Nothing this unexpected has happened all summer!!
